BC PNP Skills Immigration

The BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) Skills Immigration provides a pathway to permanent residency in Canada for workers with the skills, qualifications, and experience needed in British Columbia.

Applicants who receive a provincial nomination from BC PNP may then apply for permanent residence through IRCC.

This category has two streams:

  1. Health Authority Stream
  2. Skilled Worker Stream

Both streams may offer Express Entry and non–Express Entry pathways.

1. Health Authority Stream

This stream is for individuals working for or hired by a BC public health authority.

Main Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A full-time, indeterminate (no end date) job offer
  • From one of 8 BC public health authorities
  • In one of the 46 eligible health occupations listed below
  • Required education and credentials (license, registration, certification, or membership where applicable)
  • Required work experience as set by BC PNP and employer
  • Required language proficiency (as determined by employer and BC PNP requirements)
  • Must meet minimum wage and income requirements

Key Features

  • No points system
  • Eligible applicants can apply directly
  • Available through: Express Entry option or Non–Express Entry option

⚠️ Important Notes

NOC 33100 (Dental assistants): Must be licensed in BC (chairside assistants not eligible)
NOC 33102: Must be registered with BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry
NOC 42201: Requires a diploma or degree in social services or community health

2. Skilled Worker Stream

This stream is for skilled workers with a job offer from a **qualified BC employer**.

Main Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A full-time, indeterminate (no end date) job offer
  • From a qualified BC employer
  • In one of the 45 eligible occupations listed below (with exceptions noted)
  • At least 2 years full-time equivalent work experience
  • Required education credentials (certificate, diploma, or degree depending on occupation)
  • Minimum language proficiency of CLB 4
  • Meet wage and income requirements**

Key Features

  • Uses a **points-based system
  • Applicants must **register first
  • BC PNP issues **invitation rounds (ITA) periodically
  • Available through: Express Entry option or Non–Express Entry option

⚠️ Exceptions

Exception 1:
BC PNP may invite high-impact candidates under High Economic Impact Invitations**, targeting top talent and entrepreneurs supporting BC’s economic growth.

Exception 2:
A temporary one-time initiative (starting June 2026) will allow up to 250 health authority workers in cleaning or security roles in rural or remote areas to apply through an expression of interest system.
